Kelly and Walsh Ltd. was first established as a publishing house and book retailer in the 1870s, Shanghai. The books were published in English, with a great focus on topics of Asian culture. It gradually expanded its business to Japan, Singapore and Hong Kong. Many of the books had exquisite designs, such as silk bindings, fold out maps and etc. In the 1950's, Kelly & Walsh established itself as a book retailer in Hong Kong. It has become one of the most historical bookstores in Hong Kong.
