LANDMARK EDITS

A Gallery of Gastronomy

MAR 27, 2019

Enjoy a taste of art and design at LANDMARK this month.

As a wellspring of imagination swirls through the city during Art Month, the creative juices have made their way into the city’s top kitchens and bars. In celebration of originality and ingenuity, prestigious LANDMARK addresses such as Mandarin Grill + Bar, SEVVA and Dr. Fern’s Gin Parlour have prepared edible art experiences that will pique both your palate and perspective.

The essence of creativity

Offering a unique gallery experience designed to engage all the sense, the Mandarin Grill + Bar dining room has transformed into an art exhibit this month. Inspired by a “Go East” theme, the restaurant is showcasing Konstantin Bessmertny’s surrealist pieces as well as a selection of CONSIGG Art Advisory’s contemporary Asian Art.

To bring the art to life, Executive Chef Robin Zavou, a culinary artist in his own right, will has created a four-course menu in homage to select artworks on display. The menu includes distinct flavours and surprising textures – all beautifully prepared to depict the surrounding artwork.

For example, a caviar, leek and cauliflower starter borrows a checkerboard pattern from Tin by Konstantin Bessmertny, while a painter’s palette smeared with delicious horse mackerel, miso and black garlic puree transforms Slash by Antony Micallef into an edible experience.

A taste of timeless beauty

In honour of Art Month and International Women’s Day, which took place earlier this month, SEVVA is serving up a gorgeous Gin & Tonic. The inspiration? The beauty of femininity, featuring floral accents with pink flower petals, a dash of lemonade and a splash of Champagne. A new creation by SEVVA founder Bonnae Gokson, the artistic cocktail captures the style icon’s flair for creativity and penchant for lively design. While you’re there, swing by SEVVA’s pop-up art lounge where renowned Belgian interior designer Gert Voorjans has reimagined the space.

The beauty of botany

As part of LANDMARK’s Nature in Motion campaign, running till 14 April, Dr. Fern’s Gin Parlour is serving up two delicious cocktails inspired by the beauty of botany. “Flowers in the Snow” pays homage to artist Robert Tracy’s work, which depicts the connection of flowers and the soul. The cocktail blossoms with a creative blend of marshmallow-infused gin, honey, cream, egg white, soda and homegrown jasmine tea. Meanwhile, “The Blossom” is itself a work of art. Served in a towering glass vase, the cocktail is decorated with delectable edible flowers that adorn a refreshing combination of Whitley Neill Quince gin and London Essence bitters and elderflower tonic.
