Roger Vivier is a French luxury accessory brand established by its eponymous founder in 1963. Vivier is credited with re-inventing the stiletto heel, reviving and developing this opulent style by using a thin rod of steel. Ava Gardner, Gloria Guinness and The Beatles were all customers and Vivier designed the shoes that Queen Elizabeth II wore for her coronation. Vivier was known for his extravagant use of silk, pearls, beads, lace, appliqué and jewels to create unique decorations on his shoes. Today, Bruno Frisoni, as the current creative director, has successfully inherited the brand’s aesthetics with his classic yet innovative designs in leather goods and accessories.
