In a series of paintings depicting the seasons, Shanghaiborn artist Han Xin invites the viewer into a nuanced world of light and shadow. The willow is a recurring motif in Chinese art and a tree of great mythological significance. In this winter scene, Han Xin imbues the majestic weeping willows with the subtle tones of ice and snow, darks and lights playing off each other to create a world of silky shadows.

Han Xin has studied, worked and exhibited widely in China, the United States and France and has synthesized his diverse experiences to become a master of mood and pattern. His light-filled canvasses reflect an innately confident and optimistic nature.

Hongkong Land acquired "Endless Silky Shadows" in 2011.
